Strap up!

Summary

Along with distinct creators & artists from Hongkong, we have designed a 5-day powerpack summer camp for young individuals to unlatch their creative energy and potential.

The ordinary learning spaces young people are usually exposed to damage their self-belief and creative intelligence.

With this summer camp, we have designed an action-oriented learning experience that will intellectually immerse young individuals in creative projects that otherwise are inaccessible for students.

We want our ‘campers’ to dabble with emerging creative disciplines that are shaping the future of business & society.

Opening a world of imagination & creativity for students, our purpose is quite simple-

HAVE YOUNG PEOPLE CREATE AMAZING STUFF.

Beef up your summer schedule with 5 days of immersive, hands-on, indoor-outdoor learning adventures.

From still to moving imagery, 2D to 3D form, you will get to explore different art forms and find your OWN art language.

Don’t doubt us, our intention is to push students out of their comfort zone- both physically and intellectually- and help them unleash their inner confidence.

At this Summer camp, students will get to:

      • Dabble with and develop 5 distinct creative sensibilities
      • Engage with and learn from the avant-garde of Hongkong
      • Take home their OWN masterpieces of illustrations, music, videos, product prototypes & more.

Daily Themes

While traditional programs are fashioned for students to learn one topic, in one location for one week, OWN Inspiration Summer Camp engages students with a different theme, experience and environment every single day.

In the OWN Inspiration Summer Camp (Creative Edition), kids will get-their-hands-dirty to explore 5 distinct and upcoming creative fields:

Day #1
Camp Activity: Illustration
Camp Coach: Seain Liu, Illustrator & Artist

Illustration is having a comeback and is in a creative boom right now.
Illustration is an interpretation or visual explanation of a concept or process, designed for print or digital published media.

Look around anywhere on the internet and your eyes will fall on illustrative art.

Illustrators are professionals who can draw in a variety of media not limited to pen and pencil.

Illustration is the world’s new ‘cannot-do-without-you’ artform that is used in branding, packaging, marketing and more.

Don’t worry if you are an absolute beginner and believe you have no drawing talent, Seain, a coveted illustrator, will help you build confidence in your visual style and tickle your creative nerve.

Day #2
Camp Activity: Music Production
Camp Coach: TBC

Day #3
Camp Activity: Visual Storytelling & Filmmaking
Camp Coach: Caius Chung, Video Producer & Filmmaker

In today’s age and day, over 5 billion videos are watched every single day.
Videos and films are some of the most powerful mediums of storytelling.

Creating compelling stories using videos can stretch your creativity like nothing else and give you the confidence to communicate your ideas to the world!

Look around and every other person is consuming hundreds of MB of data every day.
We want our campers to not only be a content consumer but become content creators.

Your ideas, your voice must be heard. The way you look at things, your stories, your imagination- all of it can get poured into a video format and get saved for lifetimes!

On this day, with Caius, you will bust your myths about filmmaking, and actually write a script, storyboard it, and then shoot and edit your OWN short story.

Day #4
Camp Activity: Product Designing
Coach: Michel Guy, Senior Industrial Designer at Herman Miller

Michel is an inspiration for those who strive to build an active, social, mindful and creative lifestyle.

With Michel, you will identify a problem for someone you care about and build a product prototype that solves their problem.

Michel will support you to employ biomimicry in designing your product, the practice of learning from and mimicking the strategies found in nature to solve human design challenges — and find hope along the way.

In this process, you will actually conceptualize the solution to a real-world challenge and build a product prototype using playdough, cardboard, scissors, and such.

We hope through experience, you will not only witness the power of building something with your own hand but also develop empathy in the process.

Design, build & take home the solution to a real challenge.

Once you develop the mindset of a product designer, you will become an innovator at heart.

Day #5
Camp Activity: Architecture
Camp Coach: Enzyme

On the final day of the camp, as a part of the architectural experience, you will visit a plot of land, redesign a multi-storey building, create a concept drawing on a 3D modelling software and pitch it to the project developers.

Sounds like a lot? Don’t worry, we are here all the way with you.

Architecture is a passion, a vocation, a calling as well as a science and a business.
While artists work from real to the abstract, architects work from the abstract to the real.

With this camp craft, you have the opportunity to develop a practical and aesthetic sense of creation.
