I first started running in 2016 after signing up for Hong Kong’s first Spartan Race. Having never run more than 5K, I somehow managed to finish top 10 in the women’s elite category. I loved it out there; the adrenaline, the satisfaction of completing an obstacle and pushing through in the last kilometers when your mind is saying stop. In 2017, I decided to quit private practice law to devote myself to training and competing as a full time athlete. I was 25 at the time, and I realized – life is short and you only get one shot at it and I wanted to make the most of it. I spent that year competing in a number of obstacle and trail running races internationally. However, I realised I still wanted to be intellectually challenged on a daily basis. I have since returned to work as an in-house lawyer at Alibaba whilst still training and competing. I hope to inspire the everyday person, to show that sporting and athletic goals can be reached even with a full-time job, and there are no limits to what you can achieve.
